Sweet(s)

So, for the company party a few weeks ago, we went to a Bee's game. It was a lot of fun. We got dinner, vouchers for concessions, and some free swag for the kids to enjoy during the game. There was also a cash game.

It went like this: all of the families picked a name out of a hat. The player names from both teams were in there. Moab picked out the catcher from the other team. #5, Laird (something). The payout was this: $5 for a walk, $10 for each base on a hit, $50 for a home run, $100 for a grand slam.

Despite my screaming myself hoarse, Laird only managed to hit by a pitch and get walked. Five bucks. It was enough to cover the train ride home, I guess. After the game ended, anybody whose players had failed to do anything were given shares of the money left over.

I hadn't thought anything about it since then, but a couple of days ago the HR lady here called me and said there was a little more cash they were handing out, and that since I only got $5 I could have some of it.

$45 worth. :^)

That's a nice little surprise. I was going to use it to get a parking pass for school, but Jena told me to not be such a stick in the mud, so on my way to work this morning I stopped and loaded up on pricey goodies.

I got me some M&M's Premiums Triple Chocolate, and Endangered Species Extreme Dark Chocolate bar, and some new Xylitol gum I found (it's so hard to find non-aspartame).

I've still got some cabbage burning a hole in my pocket, so I may spring for a new DS game...we'll see.
