And again
About four years ago (the Friday before Thanksgiving) I was laid off from Linux Networx. That Sunday I ruptured a disc in my back. It was an awesome holiday season that year.
In keeping with that tradition I was laid off from Control4 this morning. There was no warning, just a call to visit the VP and that sinking premonition that I was about to get the boot.
The upshot is that I actually got some severance this time. Enough to tide us over until February 1st, assuming we pretend that I still have an income, which of course we won't. So hopefully it will last a little longer than that.
I actually think that I'll be able to find something before then, though. This job has been really good for me. I'm confident in my skills and have met a lot of really nice people that have given me a lot of tips about companies that are hiring.
I also have some other possible revenue sources in mind, which I'll detail later. How much are they paying for plasma these days?
